I have a 2001 (51), Mark 2, 1.1i, Saxo which seems to be getting through petrol very quickly. Does anybody have any idea what may be causing this, I have check for leaks. Is it possible that my gauge is incorrect?

Thank you.

It wasn't always drinking like it is now. My mate rekons the VT kit and alloys have added weight ect but I can't see it causing it to drink like it is. Ill try filling it all th e way up and logging the miles see if that sorts it and see if it work out right.

Thank you

have a look for any leaks from the fuel filter or from the tank

it could be that the price of fuel has risen and its just suddenly clicked that you seem to get less miles for the money.

Check you tyre pressure also, its should be about 33 psi

the VT kit shouldn't add enough weight to notice any difference, and if going from steelies to alloys the weight may even go down depending on alloy make

have a look at the mileage you get out of each tank, then it should be clear how its running. if it seems low then get the car checked out
