ive got virgin media cable and broadband.... so far its been the best broadband ive ever had... only drawback is.... if you dont have the home phone too and you have to call the technical helpline.... can be bloody expensive over a mobile.

Dont do it... Had very bad experience with Virgin Media. After all the beef with Sky etc a few months back, I phoned to see what they had to say and what they were going to offer customers etc. I got offered a great deal, some VIP package or something. Basically, better net, cheaper calls, more channels and V+ (which is Sky+) with a extra box upstairs in my room. Got given installation date etc to get my updated boxes which was a month away. Three days before, I got a call from them explaining they cant do it etc etc due to not having the equipment on that day. I said fair enough, when can you do it? They give me the old bullsh1t well we've had to order new stock blah blah your gonna have to wait another 5 weeks. This wasn't acceptable as I was losing a full days worth of hours at work (i'm on flexi and took the day off flexi so i lost 7 hours 24mins). I asked the guy (after a lengthy argument) if i could give my months notice to leave virgin media. He said you'll have to call back as I cant do it. So I call back straight after the call and get "Sorry, we are not open Sundays, please call back Monday between 8am and 8pm" which pi55ed me off even more. Even better... when they told me they we're sending an engineer to collect the equipment, nobody turned up. I waited in all day and not even a phonecall. The next day, I receive a box from Virgin Media sayin "pack it all up, take this to the post office and keep your receipt" - I am now with Sky, have Sky+ and an extra Sky box for Sky Multi-room in my bedroom (which I will upgarde to HD pretty soon when they give me a "special offer"). My phone line is with B.T. and my internet AOL, I have every channel on Sky, a pretty good internet provider and a decent BT package and its costing me less than what Virgin offered.

That is my story.... The End :P

No problem! May I say, Sky+ is the nuts. Especially when snooker is on.... you can play games like "pause it before he takes the shot and gues if it goes in. If your right, you down ya drink, if ya wrong... you down ya drink"

The rules to this game are not official!

Not sure if they can fit it elsewhere, Virgin Media (or Richard Branson to be correct) bought out all the cable companies (Telewest, NTL etc) so he owns them all. I don't think there are any more options other than Sky and Freeview?

Great, looks like its freeview or virgin then, the broadband should be fast though
