Right guys ive had a problem with the car and i can't seem to find what it is. Basically ive driven over a speed bump at about 20mph so not quickly and i heard a loud bang. driven up the road and the whole car starts vibrating. When its just running and not moving its terrible, the whole car vibrates quite badly, when moving the vibrations a little better but still noticable. i dont seem to be down on power or anything like that and ive had a few people look at the engine side of things and everythings ok, not a broken engine mount or anything like that. I got told it could be an exhaust problem but i surely couldn't have given it a knock or anything.
Any ideas guys, im taking to quick fit to see if they can see anything wrong with the exhaust but i trust you guys more :y:

sounds like you may have hit the exhaust over the speed bump. not sure about the rattling though unless the exhaust is rattling or broken! best to get it checked from underneath!!

I think the rattling is because the vibration is going through the whole car and its probably vibrating loose bits around the interior, from outside theres no rattling so im not too worried.
Think im gonna get the exhaust checked out...

Wouldn't there be movement if i snapped an engine mount though? had people have a look and everything seems fine, im thinking its the exhaust.....

if your exhaust is bashed against the bodywork it could be vibrating on the bottom of the car. Theres nothing like getting out the car and trying to listen to where the noise is coming from. Can you get the car on axle stands so you can get under the car to look for damage?

check the exhaust first if that fails check the bolt under the engine mount under the ecu as mine done this as it was that bolt
