Hi,
Got a problem with my VTS, When hot it basically wouldnt start again, when this arose i decided to check the plugs, cleaned them, re gapped and it developed a miss fire, then decided it was time for a new set of plugs, no change. Had a mate put the car on a computer and it came up with two faults relating to the coil pack, as i suspected, bought a new one, not cheap and the problem is still there, now i have a coil pack that was not needed and a car that still doesn't run properly, can anyone help please?
Also if anyone is interested in a coil pack i have one for sale....
Thanks,

was both faults related to the coil pack?

Same as us mate we found out that there was a crack in the lamba sensor so try that. We did the same as you bought a coil pack and we even thought it was the inlet manifold which it was'nt till my m8 had it over the weekend and replaced the lamba sensor and now she's perfect!!! ;)

My VTS lambda was £60 last year from www.lambdasensor.com. It's a decent one made by NTK too

i'm pritty sure all petrol saxo lam sensors are the same. if you unplug them you need to run them for a while and it should put the ecu light up on the dash. i had a simalar problem it was to do with the fuel return pipe that goes over the rocker cover next to the cam belt cover. it can rub through at the back of the car on the hand brake cable just before it goes into the tank

Yea think a vtr is the same, providing its the 4 wire version, im gona check under the car to see if the pipe is worn through, cheers

Just checked the pipe and your right, its got a hole in it, so is this going to be the cause of my problem? does the pipe join anywhere along the car or do i have to replace it right from the engine? cheers

tried taping over the hole and there is no difference what so ever, so that eliminates that from the possible causes, any more ideas?

If you tape the hole up is it completely sealed?
If so do an ecu reset (Disconnect the battery for a while)
Then see...

the problem with the hole in the pipe is that it can pull dirt and water into the fuel tank best off run your car till its just a bout out of fuel and clean the tank and lift pump with new fuel. this might not solve the problem but if you'd have just left it it would have fryed your fuel pump.
