E-Tech Polished Alloy Strutbrace problem

I just bought an E-Tech brace but can't get the damn thing to fit on my Mk1 VTR
I've adjusted the bonnet and removed the bonnet prop/stay but it still won't close properly over the brace.

Has anyone got any sugestions?

I've got a sparco brace on my car and i had no probs with that, but it's a different shape to the e-tech 1. Not much help i know but i'm sure someone will offer some advice. smileys/smiley4.gif
