my mate just told me that my o/s headlight is dimmer than the n/s headlight. i think this happend when i hit a bird lol. is this illegal? and whats the problem? to dark to have a look now.

sure uve not blown a bulb on your lights and uve just got a side light bulb on? when u turn ur lights on the first click is ur side lights, the next ur driving lights, if one on ur driving lights go ur just left with a side light which is dimmer. if u say a bird hit ur light posible connections are okay at back?

Two things that you need to try:

On the back of the headlight there is a white round bit of plastic that you can turn. This basically changes the angle of the reflector.. make sure the reflectors are at the same angle. Failing this:

I had the same problem mate when i hit that badger lol.. Its the reflector inside the light which the bulbs sits it.. there is a clip which is really small and if it snaps or comes unclipped the reflected moves down about 15mm and so it makes the light appear a bit dimmer than the other becus the bulbs arnt shining at the same angel anymore.


Really simple to fix, basically take the nut out of the back of the headnight and off the chassis and then you can unclip the back of the lights.. Best way to do it is first to take off the 2 metal claps and then either heat the rubber with a hairdryer or hot water and then the front (glass) will come off and you can clip the reflector back on (if clip is broken use some glue. *Unibond flexable is the best becus it gives the joint a bit of play) and then just seal the glass reflector back on and refit to car.
