Head Gasget Failure!

Hello All!

Was Driving To Work The Other Day And Head Gasget Blew On My Saxo 1.1i. Have Since Had Quotes From Garage For £800 To Fix It!

Seemed Like Quite A Lot To Me, So Have Decided To Do It Myself - Not That I Have Ever Done Anything Like This Before!!

So Any Help Or Advice Would Be Appreciated!!

for £800 you could probably get a VTS Lump dropped in there :D

buy a new engine, £50-£100 max.

I paid £100 for a 1.4 With pipercross, Loom, ECU, Barrel, Transponder Box and pickup ring.
1.1 Shouldn't be far off that price.
Probably be nearly as easy to fix an engine providing its got the same loom connectors as it would to do the gasket.

Iv Now Pulled The Car Apart, Have The Head Separate And Am Skimmin It Tomorow, Have Heard It Needs To Be Pressure Tested Though And Not Sure Where To Get This Done!!

Any Ideas?
