Hello!
Right last september i had a crash in my 1.2 punto! and its been going on since then, as on a round-about etc give way to the right, i did but the car in front slowed down, left me in the middle of the roundabout, car hit my drivers door ect! well my solictor is saying that it is my word VS his, but if i judge looks at it (and soon will be) that its going to end up being my fault!

Now, yeah guess im going to have to deal with it, what fee's will i have to pay?pay for his car to get repaired? well his was a write off like mine! just never done this before and i have no idea what fee's im going to have to pay? my solictor fee's? just dont know if im going to end up with a big fat bill at the end or iff my insurance company picks up on it all?

any advise would be great all :)

A few questions first:

1) Do you have legal cover as part of your policy?

If yes, you will not have any legal fees to pay (depending on the terms of your legal cover).

2) Is your car insured Fully Comprehensive or TPFT?

You will not pay for his car to be repaired regardless of your insurance (as long as you are insured) - that's essentially what insurance cover is for. If you're fully comp, your car will be repaired also, without cost to you. However, if you are judged to be liable then you will have lose your excess.

It would be improper to comment on the issue of liability given that this is already in the hands of solicitors.

i see!
right im TPFT - at the time of the crash! my car and his are both write offs
i dont know about legal cover, i didnt ask for the sol my insurance company contacted me and told who they was and that they are dealing with it! ill look in paper work 2night when i get home :) excess i think was 250,
so i might be looking at solictor fees, is that mine and his ??? or what

Check your paperwork regarding legal cover - from your post (which suggests the insurance company has contacted a solicitor to deal with the claim) it would appear that you have legal cover.

As you're TPFT, if you're deemed liable, you won't receive a penny (other than the scrap value of your car) and lose your £250 excess. If the other party is judged at fault, his insurance will cover you - i.e. you'll receive a payout for the market value of your car prior to the accident and your excess will be returned to you.
