My back end keeps kicking out all the time in the wet. The only thing i can think it being is the tyres. What are the best tyres for wet and dry

Just a few questions as it could be something else

what are your current tyres?
What suspension have you got?
if uprated what are the settings (if adjustable shocks)

would be worth talking through your driver inputs as well so we get a clearer idea of what happens out on the road.

how low is it as the back end should be a bit higher than the front, shocks could be worn

The tires are some cheap things i got on the wheels on friday. It happened on my other tyres as well though.

The front are adjustable and are set up as hard as they go. The rear is spax dampers. Im lowered 40mm all round.

The back end just jumps out on corners in the wet. First bad time i was doing 15-20mph and then lastnight the same happened again

i had this exact problem, i thought it was the brake compensator valve thing but it used to slide without braking even in dry. the problem was a sticking caliper-could be that but most likly sommit else, worth a look tho!

sounds stupid but when i had 2 guys in the back of my car with the boot full of my tool gear you could feel the difference. usualy it takes a good half turn flick to even get it out abit but with all that weight in the back a small flick flung it out.

whats in your boot maybe?? long shot i know

mine used to do this before lowered, even in the dry if hard on the brakes!
My backend used to swing out at like 10mph in a tight corner, check tyre pressues, am running 36 front 32 rear on 185/14 tyres........ Never had problems since it was lowered and changed wheels not long after!

Use decent tyres, don't go round corners in the wet off the power.

I agree.

And buy the best tyres that you can afford. Keep an eye on and do your pressures regularly.

I find stiff suspension in the wet does not help.
