Richie2104VTR Progress Thread ITS BACK!!! 01/02

Been reading a few progress threads lately and thought I would create my own, so here it is.

Purchased the saxo in beginning of September 2006 after wanting one for a while. I stumped up the cash and bought a 2002 VTR and here is how it stood when I bought it.

Then after checking a few cars out on sax-p decided to start the modifications. The plans were as follows:
· Smoked lights all round
· Lowered 40mm
· Decent exhaust
· Vts wheels.

So I started off at the top of the list (makes sense). So I bought some rear lights from gbk performance of ebay (not popular with some but had no problems with my orders). So after I got the rear lights I set about looking for some smoked front headlights, I was going to do this myself but was to lazy so went back to gbk and made an offer on some smoked headlights and they accepted :fcuk: .

The next mod was getting the car lowered. After a bit of debating on whether to go down on standard shocks or buy a full suspension kit decide to get a full kit, the Spax PSX kit to be precise. So I bought the kit and now was just a matter of getting it fitted. I rang Manic Motors after hearing good things about them; they fitted the kit and lowered the torsion bar to match the front (40mm).

Was really pleased with the results.

With all that had gone on thus far was a bit of a wait before the next mod came.

Over January and February I was just enjoying the car and had some great fun in the snow until I got stuck on a overly ambitious piece of road, thanks to steve_vtr cause ye can man piece of piss also thanks to the man that smashed my car up the hill at high speed and back to snow that was capable on!!

I then started looking around at exhausts and decided to buy a scorpion cat-back system. After a little wait for delivery finally got the system fitted.

Not really got any pics of the exhaust, but found this one.

The next thing on the list was vts wheels but decided against them as everyone seemed to have them. So instead I got these Speedline Chrono’s. This is also my most completed mod to date (a few things to come in the very near future). :p

Cheers. Did try higher gear got to 5th at one point just would'nt stop spinning :oops: so a man that lived nearby who claims to never get stuck just slide down to bottom of the hill and floored it up. I was impreessed:omg:

As said the grill is currently being worked on at the moment. Will reveal it when its done, won't be long at all!!

Fogs were gonna be smoked but decided to go without, will get pics when the grill is fitted.

Thought about de-wipering a while back but backed out, but really does smarten the backend up so might do it in the future. :p

i think you should deffo de wiper the back. makes such a big difference and its no big deal not having a rear wiper. i like what you've done, the car looks excellent. how'd you get the scorpion to sit so well coming out the back of the car or did you get it fitted professionaly??

Did'nt do anything special with the scorpion just fitted it normally and thats how it sat.lol. Did get it re-welded because the backbox came off but sat exactly the same before that was done.

Update : Grill Painted And Fogs Out

Did a couple of mods since the last post was done. The grill was looking a bit grey and batterd so went down to halfords and got some paint and wet nd dry. After a few days work of sanding and painting it was done!

Was going to also smoke the fog lights to match up with the headlights, but after taking them out i thought looked quite good so decided to leave them out!

Then on saturday morning i got my quickshift threw the post from kam-racing (Cheers mate) and got to fitting it straight away. Results are quality feels alot nicer changing gear and is substancially shorter shifts.

A 4-1 Janspeed manifold with sports cat has also been fitted but have no pictures of that yet. :oops:

Sounded better in person. cant believe how nice your car drives unlike my vts. I now have an expensive shopping list and use alot more fuel than you :( miss my vtr. Still though VTS beats you :p
