Got a fault with my car. Just had new alternator, new battery and new belt fitted and the bastard battery lights comes on goes off comes on goes off like a box of fucking christmas lights. Only way to get rid of it is to rev the bolocks off the car but then decides to come back on after 10 seconds. Any ideas??It flickers like thier is a loose connection but ive checked all the connections I know off!

sounds like the rectifier on your alternater is faulty(the little black box on the back)if you've just had it replaced it needs takeing back to the garage!;)

was the alternator brand new??

might be worth getting a test dont on battery and alternator at halfords, still free as i know of

could also be

loose battery connections
a bad earth
the alternator belt not adjusted properly
check the battery cells, if there below the plate fill it with water so that it just covers the plate :y:

Very likely to be the conection on the alternator, Mine was doing it,

Disconnect the battery
Undo the connection at the front on the top of the alternator ( 10mm nut i think??)
If its full of shit rub it off with sandpaper or wire wool
(optonal) lash it full of copper grease to protect it
Tighten it all back up..

Hope all goes well

I had the same problem on mine. I ended up replacing the alternator and the belt but left the battery. I couldn't work out why the light was still flickering. I eventually gave in and took it into Citroen. They had the car for a good few hours and sourced the problem. One of the wires that connected to the alternator had burnt out thus causing some charge loss. It's something not visible to the naked eye but that was the only last thing it could have been. Since I had that wire replaced, the light has never come back on :)
