Hiya,

Ive got a Westcoast 1.4, Metalic Red (Not that that makes any difference whatsoever !!) at the minute its sitting on its standard 14" alloys that it has had for years..

What is the maximun size wheel that you can safely upgrade to without having to adjust the wheel arche's or anything like that?

Im looking for some 5 spoke, 4 stud alloys and was thinking to upgrade to 16"s, - me being me i would have to pick out the hardest size to find. :A:

Any guidence on this topic would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Georgie.

to really appreciate your car, lower it about 40mm with 15s, they'll fill your arches really nicely.

Is it worth lowering it if im planning on getting a body kit in the not so distant future? - Shes going to be undergoing a big makeover soon :)

15s. Saxos look best on 15s without a doubt. Good selection of tyres. Good handling with a good amount of sidewall to lean on.

Brillient, I only queried as I overheard a friend of mine talking about when he first got his saxo he had 17"s on it from what the previous owner had put on and they were catching on his wheel arche's whenever he turned the corners - Just wanted to know the safest size.

Many thanks - been of much help !!

Georgie.

Why would you put a bodykit on a Saxo without lowering it, itll have so much archspace itll be unreal.

My old man is able to produce me a custom body kit from scrach as he is in that trade but surely wouldnt it be better to lower it (if nessesary) after the bodykit has been fitted? - I may be adjusting all my wheel arch pannels so it may look rediculously low if i drop it afterwards and sit below my alloy edge? - ive probally just completly confused you lol.

Sorry im being a pain.

well you could get it lowered initially anyways.
with massive bumpers planned for future, a 40mm around drop should look good both with and without a kit.

If you are planning on having a bodykit made for it get some 18s or 19s and do all the arch work.

You can guarantee if you are planning on kitting it anything less than 17s will look ridiculously small!

If you want to get some wheels on now that look big but doesn't need much in the way of arch mods 16s will fit with 195/40 profile tyres as long as it's not lowered a ridiculous amount

agreed you need 17s or so for a body kitted beast.
