View Full Version : Turning left.
Any sort of turn to the left even a minor one, I get a knocking/grinding noise...
Not my driveshafts as ive had both of them replaced and im bit annoyed about as a garage even told me it was that.
Anything else?

well you could try tightening them up, lift the carpet up in the footwells and the nuts are there, its worth a try
where abouts in the footwell, i have to make a hole in the sound proofing?

checked the wishbones quick :p
just take the carpet up and tighten them up and then go for a drive if it still does it come back on
tried tightening them, theyre fine.
mate whos a mechanic says it sounds rotational.
those 13mm bolts that are in the engine bay (top of the strut is it?) how tight should you do those?
checked the wishbones quick :p
just take the carpet up and tighten them up and then go for a drive if it still does it come back on
they were tight.
i didnt have to ruin my soundproofing, under the carpet the soundproofing had a flap on it.

wheel not rubbing on arch?
the wheel is rubbing on the arch, but it did it before it was lowered,
perhaps its a wheel bearing giving play which allows the wheel to touch the arch.
However, saying all of this.
It'll make the noise even with the slightest left turn of the steering wheel

yeah could be a bearing or a bush then
how much do wheel bearings cost to get replaced?
what do you mean by bush? (where?)

my car does this. i heard it could be the track-rod-ends. but its a pain. it normally does it on low speeds but sometimes of i am goin over a bump at high speed it knocks!
sound about right?
no. mine does it when turning left or even the slightest turn of the steering wheel to the left.
could it be something to do with the steering rack?
possibly i guess mate, how the hell a garage is instantly going to know!?! :(
firstly garage told me it was offside driveshaft, ive replaced both.
nothing.
<.< >.>
dont know what to do...
