ive got a 266mm setup on my saxo and when i brake it squeeks like mad and sounds like a bus. also under harder braking than normal the steering wheel judders.

they have had copper greese on and the rims are balanced and my tracking is fine.

are the disc's warped?

^^ which disc's and pads have you got? ive been told that they have warped becasue of the hard braking and the disc's and pads not been able to cool down

could well be the discs being warped mate if you have a DTI (dial test indicator) you can check with one of those if not you could just put a bit of would stood up and rotate the disc to see if the gap gets any bigger or smaller. that way your going to know there warped, how long have you had the discs and pads on and also have you done any track days

^^ not done any track days and they have only been on for about 2 month

did you get the tracking and wheels balanced before getting the dics and pads on?

could even be down to worn bushs and wheel bearing :)

the tracking was fine before the setup was put on and is fine after. the balencing was fine before and only one wheel has been balanced after but that shouldnt matter.
it could do with them not bedding in properly
if i get better disc's and pads should they not do it again. if so any links?

you getting any vibrations through the steering wheel when u brake (especially at high speeds)? After a DTI test mine were scarily warped :panic:

i like mintex discs and pads myself, dont drive them hard for a good 500 to 1000 miles also are you using the right ones for your car, as theres vented and solid discs

Mark51

they are solid disc's and i drove well steady with them for 1k miles

you sure its you definatly breaking too hard

i had to replace the wheel bearing and hub (probably not in your case)...but just consider other reasons why they might be warping?

i think i might just get some groove disc's and see if that makes a difference

tbh mate i think grooved discs are a big con for standard calipers, there ok for likes of 4 pots and 6 pots etc, id highly recommend the mintex ones

I had to do the hub on mine. I went through 5 sets of disks and pads in 3 months :)

New hub sorted it.

Might sound silly but if you put your handbrake on after heavy usage when your at a stop your asking for trouble...put it in gear instead
