View Full Version : Where to go on renewal...

Hi all...
I know its a while off yet, but i want to know a rough price to renew...

I'm going to be 18 on august 20th, the same date as my insurance is for renewal...

I Currently pay £1400 (ish) TPFT on my 2000 Furio.
I have no Mods declared, i have no points, however i have 1 claim for total loss (I hit someone in ice at 10mph and his car was written off :O)

I want to declare the mods asap (Everything i need to anyway, all in my sig).

I passed my test on the 19th sept, so in august at renewal i won't be far off a years driving, (will be a whole year if all the lessons with mum and an instructor count, doubt it though)...

I don't expect to pay less than i'm paying now, what with a claim and mods and all, but don't want to be paying anymore ideally...
Somewhere that doesn't need an engineers report for all mods would also be ideal, as quinn who i'm with at the moment, require engineers reports, which is a pain in the arse, got one here with every intentions of getting it stamped, but its easier said than done!

Anyway, where's the best places for this?
I'd like a quote in advance, so when my last payment comes out for my existing insurance, i know how much to keep aside towards the new insurance policy, and maybe some mods with whatever's left if any :p

Thanks
David

And if your turning 18 Bells muti-flexi plan thing lets you choose what you want on the policy and gives you the option to pay each month i think for not much more

All else fails declare mods after lol

Will look into those...
Just like to be organised, plus then there'll be no hassle in knowing the mods will be declared upon renewal...
Cheers

True, but the only 'mods' so far in the eyes of those bastards are performance wise as premiums only rise for exhausts, extra BHP and that i think?

Declaring everything else was easy for me when it came to it.

Only the tints, lowering and those black chevrons could be a point :p

lol love it... yeah lowering is usually not a problem cost wise, its just notifying them, otherwise its a way out of payouts...

No way to tell how much your price will drop for next year. All companies are different. I was with Asda for year 1 and payed £940 fully comp on furio, renewall came through at £1281, like im gonna pay MORE than last year!!.

Got another quote with Norwich Union, £750 Fully Comp. Then as a last resort i tried RAC. Thought it was going to be huge cause they were a big company.
................£645 Fully Comp - £220 Excess and £800 Audio Cover.

Wise to shop around. You dont have to take your renewall. A years no claims makes a lot of difference with certain companies.

yeah fair play.
I won't have a years no claims though - I had a claim in feb for a 10mph crash in the ice... his car was a write off... Total loss claim against me!
That's why my car has a blue wing! lol

Soz didnt read the first post fully.

Shop around thou mate. Try RAC and Norwich Union. Get a quote now and fill in the details the same as you would for your renewall.
