apparently my clutch is broken in my car and therefore need a new one.
would it be best to just let the garage do everything or for my to try and find a clutch myself at a cheaper cos and for them to just fit it?

find out how much they can get a clutch for. it may be cheaper if you buy your own clutch and they fit it but they may not offer you a guarantee (if they do) as they may not recommend the clutch. what ever you do-make sure it isnt a recon clutch as brand new ones arent that expensive
firstly buy a std valeo clutch not a black diamond piece of crap or similar.
get a garage to do it unless your very good with spanners, strong and have a mate who can help, have lots of patience etc..
box changes are queer.

got a phone call today turns out it is the gearbox as originally thought.
they claim its going to cost £1700. what the hell is that about?
surely i can get a new gearbox for a lot less money?
