engine mite have developed a fault (ecu fault)
misfiring could be down to a range of things mate
1.sensors
2.fault code
3.crap fuel
4. timing out
5.ignition

Connor_scotland

Let it dry out! :)
i took the hair dryer to it for ages lol to see if that would dry the coil pack but it still runs like shite
Are there any noticeably wet areas under the bonnet?
Does it misfire all through the rev range? Have you taken the spark plugs out to check they're in good condition?

no damp patches at all mate
Took all the sparkers out and it seems ok just the usual brownish colour
I changed them about 3 weeks ago
Also its a constant misfire even on idle

The car is smoking aswell at the rear but is that because its dropped a cylinder
What colour smoke? I wonder if your headgasket has pooped...
Connor_scotland
31st May 2007, 11:07
oil is ok
My mate said it was black then a bit white( could it just be the engine is cold)
Could be...
Here's the basics mate... White smoke on start up is fairly normal. If it continues, it COULD mean a coolant leak, which could as i said before, mean that your headgasket it pooped. If you get blue smoke, this typically means you're burning oil, thus, quite a few possibly issues... You'll need to check.
Interestingly, white smoke can often occur after going through deep puddles mate, so who knows...?

its no blue smoke for sure
I can't understand why the 'engine check' light has not come on. Sorry mate, I don't think I can help anymore. You'll have to wait and see what the garage have to say.

I had a misfiring problem on my car. When you took off the leads did you make sure they went back in the correct firing order? My main problem was faulty leads, even though i put bosch ones on. Although as said it could be a number of things. Does it do it all the time or only when its warmed up?
Connor_scotland
31st May 2007, 14:11
does it all the time mate
its not that the leads are in teh wrong order theres only 1 way they go on as its a coil pack
