to be fair the VTS was probably standard and the driver was crap (but it didnt get owned really ;))
and the seat was probably chipped.

Im tryin to think now what are the advantages of a petrol apart from sound?

Diesels have more useable power, you dont have to rag them to overtake, they do 50-60mpg and that doesnt drop much when you tank it and dont cost much more to buy or service these days, more power can also be had by just a simple chip, unlike petrols, and insurance is usually cheaper!

to be fair those 1.9 diesel engines do have a shed load of torque even though id cry if i lost to the 110bhp version.

doubt that was a proper vts. if so that would have been the cupra edition otherwise no other derv from seat would touch a vts..
