when i took off my old gear knob there was no whit plastic bit, but instead it was a rubber mould. any one no why? so i think i need a white plastic bit because the new one will not go on now. know where to get one from?

the rubber bit has twisted so it dont stay on right now, need a white plastic thing now.

how do you remove the stock/old gearknob and handbrake without damagining anything?

I remeber seeing a guide on another site but cant remeber on how to do it?

the standard gear knob u give a good old yank, and the handbrake u slice down it with a stanley blade.

umm, go to a scrappy and get one from there. im going up on wednesday, if i can get one u can have it for the price of postage.

no it was a rubber mold instead , i thought it was inside the mold but it wasnt, i cut down the mold which i shouldnt of done, and it wasnt there. tryd using the mold but because of the cut it didnt work.

is it that the gear knob is too big to sit on the shaft? if yeah, why not shove something up there?

got a replacement gti gear knob, yeah its to big and moves about on the shaft , could bond or gule it but would need some stron stuff

Wrap some insulation tape round it to pad it out, worked on my fiesta :y: :)

do that, ^^^ should work, still want me too look out for the white thing at the scrappy?
