Just brought some subs of a mate of mine and all seemed gd and well. I bridged both subs cos my amp is only 600w four channel so 300w through each sub. Everything was fine untill i started driving dwn the road. Then it just cut out. When i got home i checked all the fuses and they were fine, checked wiring and its all good. So i then checked each sub on its own NOT bridging it. And they both worked fine so then i thought i better have both subs none bridged incase it was the bridging tht causes the problem but when i put one sub in it worked, then when i put the next one in everything went quieter!

I dont understand whats happening! Do you think the power wire isnt powerful enuff??? Or the amp has fucked? Or what????

Please help ppl! Thanks!

Your amp mate, may not be able to power them when bridged

the amp is a vrx 600w 4 channel and the subs are only 500w peak

wud it be best if i put them both on diff channels? front and rear instead of left and right..?

i dnt understand why it wud work at 1st with the engine idling then when i drive dwn the road it wud cut out...

Its fine now. Changed the power cable and its fine. Think the old one wasnt powerful enuff..

It will have been your Amp shutting itself off as it wasn't getting enough power.

Power Cable always a good way to sort the problem. Also if you only have on set of pre-outs on your head unit and you split them, you also split the votlage.

A good way to overcome this is to buy what is known as a "line booster" great way to gain back power you lose due to splitting the pre-outs and to set up your system.

Just though I'd let you know if you later have this problem again :y:

It sounds like it cant hold the power of the bridged subs and the protection system cuts in. try just bridging 1 sub.
