No power to speakers!

just wired comps and amp up. turned on ignition and got no sound! checked the fuse in amp all ok, checked fuse on power lead all ok. so whats the next thing i need to check?

checked all wires, earth is fine. is there any way i can check if theres power going to the amp?

make sure the RCA plugs are in right mate

if one of the speakers arent connected properly, or if a tweeter isnt connected properly will this stop any sound coming through on all the speakers? or will it only stop the speaker/tweeter with the faulty connection?

well it shouldnt effect any other speakers mate

It should only be the speaker / tweeter thats not wired properly that dont work if thats the case

also you know that motorised noise thing in the engine which sounds everytime you start the engine up, and also when you turn the engine off. normally when i turn the engine off you hear about a minute or 2 after. but since wiring my amp and speakers up, it takes longer than 5 mins before you hear it. is it anything to be concerned about?

could it be where i've wired the power to? as i followed the stick which tells you to unscrew the nut in the small fuse box and attach the power lead to that. i havent got anything to test if any power is going to amp tho.

tha noise is just the relays in the engine mate, dont worry its normal

theres a little light next to fuse thats says: power / protector but its not on.

Make sure all negative wires are in the negative terminals and the same for the positives , i sumtimes put them in the wrong ones

Edit : make sure the fuse is pushed in right or change fuses , make sure the earth cable has a good connection by touching bare metal , try sanding the area with sand paper , same with the power cable , make sure it has a good connection

you checked the power lead fuse

if theres no lights on the amp at all then thats the problem, my power lead came out of the fuse holder before and i spent a good half an hour wondering what it was

no i got bonnet up, power lead is securely in fuse, fuse isnt broken so should be working, unless the amp is faulty.

id seriously get someone with a multi meter to see if your getting current through the cable

could be a problem with the internals of the amp if theres no lights on at all

have you checked your P-remote switch.

if its a separate amp to your sub, you need to turn that amp on too

got no remote switch on there. amps just powering front speakers, got no sub... yet!

you still need a remote wire friom headunit to amp to turn it on mate, thats probablies the problem, have a look in the FAQs for the basic wiring guides i did
