How easy is this, on any car?
Wanting to change it on my astra, I'm presuming they will all be pretty much the same, sort of a sump plug to drop it etc...
the problem i cant get my head around is re-filling it, and how much?

I don't know how much your car takes, sorry. But the 106 takes 2 ltrs if that helps?
It's technically not a difficult job, but it's really awkward trying to fill it up.

Just to add, if you're not bothered about the perfection of the oil, just take your car to a garage that do it. I've seen places where they have it all in a big pump, and don't chanrge much at all just to whack some boggo standardo stuff in your box! ;)

pretty easy when i did it on the sax, just remove the wheel and remove the drain plug and the filler plug, recommended renewing the copper washers. im not sure on the amount needed on an astra though? but i do know that gear oil is 1 of the worst smells ive ever encountered!!

^^ it definately is, Leckie knows that after he was nearly sick when i poored it over his hands lol
as for the astra, could take it to a garage and you supply the box oil so then you you know whats going in
