Hi mate.

It could be a few things, so the quickest way to solve it is to get your car hooked up to a computer which can read all the faults. A standard Ebay jobbie type reader will not work.

It's more than likely that one of your wheel sensors has fooked, but you'll never know until the diagnostics is ran.

If you have nothing to do, you could take the time to clean all your wheel sensors (I did this) but it didn't help unfortunately. Turned out I had a sensor that decided to throw in the towel.

most likely the abs sensor is faulty it seems to be quite a common fault

Yup

Get it diagnosed, any auto elec place should do it, and then it'll need a new sensor,

My drivers front has gone.

Cunting thing

LOL ^^ Theres more than one sensor though...

Strange that this has happened considering you havent driven the car for a week? So nothing has been done to it etc etc?

My driver's front went too. Car is still pretty new / low mileage and the sensor looks untouched. How annoying!

Give it a clean first. Where abouts has it been left squire? Same happend to mine. I gave it a spit shine and voila everything was back to normal.

If that doesn't work I feel you could do with a new sensor.

Some Diagnostics can cost a few bob.

Hope this helps pal. :y:

More likly its just rusty / dirty, hopefully a clean will sort it.

Have a look behind your wheel matt, 2 tubes come from the engine bay, one is the brake line, the other is to the abs sensor.

EDIT: and on the subject of diagnostics, does the saxo use the OBD2 type plug?

Is that the 16 pin plug? If so, yes it does.

Yeh i think its 16 pin... have never acctually counted though... i might count them one day... one bored day... one sad lonely bored day... one sad lonely bored day nothing else to do in the world day... one sad lonely nothing else to do in the world except count pins on my cars diagnostic slot day.

Mmm nah i'll take your word for it ;)

Sounds like you are having that day today! :)

The boggy standard readers don't give you such information as to the likes of ABS issues. They only read the DTC codes (Ones which turn on the engine check light.)

The real deal diag machines cost thousands! They are sweet though, a mechanic friend of mine has a few and they tell you so much. It can tell me the current live readings on the lambda sensors, etc, etc.
