Hi Just fitted a B&M (thanks Kam for this) and does feel a lot shorter and tighter but seems to be a lot harder to get into gear especially second!
it was like it before but the quickshift seems to have made it worse!
does this mean i need a new set of linkages? if so how much are they? could i fit them myself? best place to buy? OR is it something else?
please help because it is quite annoying trying to drive like it!!

I would say if it was like it before yes the quick shift would make it worse as it tightens the shift a fair bit...
Might be the linkages, if it is there only cheap.

I have a b&m on both my spaxo's, I'm afraid it's part and and parcel of them dude and it's a damn shame the people selling them fail to mention that this will happen everynow and again. I have the problem going into second on mine every now and again and it's usually 3rd gear on the black one.. You will get used to it eventually man. You just need to give it some force :err:

you can't blame a quickshift kit for making your worn ball joints more of an issue. it would be like putting a sticker on a catcams box saying 'warning - may accentuate symptoms of a worn clutch'

as you say yourself there was a problem before I would say yes. Either your gear linkages are worn or its something with the gearbox like the synchromesh but its bet money on the linkage.
