now i dont know how true this is BUT

there is a way to fixin the issue

its more likely to be a heating probs if u take it apart and put some new thermal paste on the mian chip that should sort it out........ dont quote me :P

Mine did this...but it was within the warranty so I got sent a brand new one and an apology letter from Bill Gates and a blank cheque....

Wrap a towel round it for 30mins and switch it on.....the heat stays in then and does something......remove it and it should work for a while before it breaks again lol

Yeh it starts off when the games keep freezing and it keeps saying clean disc......then when you try loading it back up again it shows 3 red lights...which means its screwed

the reconditioned ones they are now sending out have a massive heatsink fitted now so bag a replacement.....

Yeah the hardrive is fine with the 3 rings. It's when you get the black screen with E40 error that your hard-drive is buggered. That happened to mine first time I turned it on.

My brothers came up with the 3 rings at the weekend when he tried to play Forza, oh how I laughed :P. £80 for them to look at it coz it's out of warranty.

like some1 said its microsoft... shame cant u get it fixe dor is this another one of microsofts cons time for a new one...
why do people think one of the reasons why ps3s took longer to come out
so they can improve the durability of their consoles... who here still owns a fully working ps1 .. me :) god knows how long its been alive . :)
atleast with ps3's you can't go wrong they been in the console industry slightly longer and have that stronger knowledge of how things work in the department. microsft stay with their pc's :)

My PS2 survived a trip down the stairs......the cover off the CD drive fell off thatwas it......It killed an OAP when it reached the bottom

u can buy cooling units tht clip on the back off ebay for like 3 quid, its jus a couple more fans chucking cold air in lol. may be worth investing
