If you want to take out temporary cover in your own name then you need to be 21 years or over.

If however, if it's a parent that's adding you to there insurance then that's fine.

There is a company out there that will insure you on your own even if you're not 21 cos my friend had that type of insurance and she was only 19/20 at the time.

Don't know what the company was called

I don't think I'd let anyone drive my car third party lol

Luke you can't drive any car... You can drive any car what already has an insurance policy out on it. :P trust me mate if it was that easy i'd be driving both cars daily :P

That's what I meant mate.

I know that you can only drive it if it's insured to someone else.

Due to a large number of enquiries requesting single day car cover, we've responded in launching the eCar Short Term Car Insurance policy. So whether you're hiring a car for a few days, driving a courtesy car from a garage, borrowing a friends car for the weekend or test driving a car you're looking to buy, we can cover you for anything up to 28 days.

Your premium will be based on a daily rate and you can extend or amend your policy online, 24 hours a day.
