Should I ???

Basically i have been offered two 12 inch kicker competition subs and a toxic 2 channel 2000 watt amp and wiring kit second hand from a mate for £150.
He says the subs are 800watt rms each but it not sure for definate and all in good condition.

What do you reckon, is it worth it?

£150 quid for a 800watt rms sub system with amps is cheap.

check ebay for their prices in the 2nd hand market if you sold them separately so you can always make cash on them if you want to out them :)

i wouldnt bother mate, subs are ok but not the best, the amp is terrible, cheap and probablies wont last long

a sound system is for your ears not for people you drive past, plus your just going to draw attention to yourself, thieves will target our car

id honestly buy a jbl deal from ebay, quality stuff and will sound just as good as 2 subs if set up right

then spen what you have left to sound deaden the boot

ive heard the jbl subs and they give off great bass, all depends if you set it up right though :y:

Ohh ok i have no idea about wiring up but when the time comes ill ask for help. I have heard that a good wiring kit is also essential to get the best out of a sub and im guessing the wiring kit in those ebay deals is pretty shite???

yeah good wiring is a must, and yes the wiring kits you usually get are crap, sell them on, on ebay for about 15 - 20 quid to get some more money for decent wiring :y:

id be spending at least 50 on wiring, get to maplins for it :y:

right so id suggest you get a 4 gauge wiring kit and a distribution block to go into some 8 gauge

so 4 gauge into the distribution block then 8 gauge from that to the amps :y:

then you will need a few metres of 8 gauge power and earth

also id have 2 distribution blocks one for power and one for earth, makes things easier imo

and then finally some crimp on connectors

the jbl sub deals that are £100 pound are 250rms so i could get two of them or this one, which would be better?? Having two 250rms subs or one 500???

tbh one good sub will be better than 2 , its not always about the power ratings, its how you set them up and wire them up :y:
