People slate spax but i had them on my standard dampers and were really good i thought..
I now have "ventura" springs which come with bilstein dampers.. they are good but i have now ordered some more spax springs..:p

its personal preference mate, depends what you want, do you want a softer ride or a harder ride! standrad shocks are not a good idea if your lowering mate, they can be used, but are not recommended!

im only goin down 40mm and i dont exactly take my car around tracks or anything just want something to make it look nicer an handle slightly better! I have read around and I have heard 40mm is the maximum drop recommended on standard dampers

Obviously its better to use shortened dampers but not everyone wants that..they want better than standard handling with better looks aswell..lowering springs offer this and spax are one of the best imo.
They made my ride very firm..;)

if you uprate your dampers it will give you twice as good handling as with standard dampers! ;) and it will look pretty much the same anyway, so why not uprate them??

I know it makes the handling loads better..
I have bilstein group N shortened tarmac dampers on my car with 40mm springs..They cost quite abit and not everyone wants to spend alot of money..
Also as these dampers are uber stiff, running 40mm springs doesn't drop it as much as it would if on standard dampers so i have had to buy some spax 60mm springs..
Another thing is most uprated dampers are very stiff and in a road car i wouldn't recommend them as they make you car rattle like mad on each bump you hit..

But back to the original point of this thread spax offer the best compromise in price and performance..you wont be disappointed..;)

if you are going to use dampers and springs then spax are great if you dont want to spend any money, but if you can save for a bit longer, other brands offer a noticable performance difference.
The ventura springs are an ok brand, not the best but will certainly do the job, If you can afford better then go for H&R, Eibach or get custom matched ones from Faulkner. If anyone ever wants just the bilstein dampers then we can supply them separate.

My car is down 40mm on spax springs with standard shocks,it handles loads better and I have had no problems what so ever i would go for spax springs if you dont want to spend much.
