i've got an R reg VTS and when it reaches normal running temp, and if it's just ticking over when i stop at lights etc, it just cuts out and it won't start again 4 another couple of hours. i've taken it 2 the local dealer and the brain test is showing no problems. any suggestions ?i've got an R reg VTS and when it reaches normal running temp, and if it's just ticking over when i stop at lights etc, it just cuts out and it won't start again 4 another couple of hours. i've taken it 2 the local dealer and the brain test is showing no problems. any suggestions ?</font>

theres definitely something up with the electronics there id say. I would take it to an auto electrician and see what they say

would the auto electrician find any faults the dealer couldn't find when he tested the brain ? or would he run the same tests ?

probably be the same test, you must connect the brain when its runs faulty, or when there is problem.

or what you can do is, if you have a friend with a saxo, change evety sensor one by one until the fault dissapears

as sod himself would expect, the son of a bitch runs like clockwork when the dealer has it on test, but as soon as i take it on a run it goes pete tonge. i don't have a friend 2 swap sensors with, is it possible 4 my local dealer 2 test each sensor, or will this only work at the point of the fault occuring ? does the brain not log all faults and the cause of them ?

brain does not log faults, when the brain is connected to the computer, each sensor is tested automaticly but to find the fault the sensor needs to be not working when connected.

also check the lambda sensor cable it runs behind the exhaust and get really hot if the cable has been damgaged from the heat and is touching or near the exhaust this will cause your car to cut out as it runs stright back to your ecu (brain). i had the same problem with my vts but is now sorted.chin up smileys/smiley2.gif
