When I took a friends Pugeot 106 1.1i Inca into the garage for a Head Gasket they quoted him around the £100 mark.

depends whether the head needs skimming, which i'd say is most likely...

i'd say at a garage, touching the 200 mark

I was going to say about £400 as that's what I usually hear, but I could be wrong.

Gotta admit I was alwaysunder the impression that the cost was also around the 400 mark

Yeah, that's what I thought.

No matter what car or engine size, £400 is always the same figures I hear about.

it's one of them things that garages love to rip you off on.. if you have a mechanical friend then they'd probably charge around £100.

its the labour charge that costs, the gasket kit itself is only about £30. id say about £300-400...
