Basically the tyres on the saxo, Firestone Firehawks, are pretty shite in the wet. In the dry theyre awesome but when it rains you have to be quite careful.

Normally its not too much of a problem, but today the wheels were locking up really really easily all round. And it was wheel spinning when pulling away. And i wasnt breaking that hard or pulling away very hard atall im talking old granny speeds, it just seemed to have no grip. Theyve never been this bad even in really really bad rain, and all tyres have very good tread.

Im gonna check tyre pressures, but if theres something on the tyres how do i get them clean again?

lol aye, but theyre not normally this bad. It was like they were covered in oil, i had a mate in the passenger seat and she was quite scared

Could be due to the fact that it has been quite warm, so the roads once it has rained become very slippery.

you cant beat a bit of sliding, but obviously only when you want to, i have the same problems in the wet, but only on my rear tyres, always have decent fronts no matter what, as thats where i like my grip to be

Yeah i think ill upgrade when they need replacing. I was literally driving like a granny when it started happening though. Just have to hope it doesnt happen again.

Was it happening everywhere and just in a certain place?

Sure there wasn't a spillage that carried on up the road.
