Red is live black is earth and the yellow is for dimming the light i think

You can wire it up to the cigarette lighter with the live and earth, but the yellow goes to sidelights i think!

Red wire - connect to the positive supply of your amp (or the REMOTE of your amp if you want it to come on when your headunit is inserted...)
Black wire - connect to the negative supply of your amp...
Yellow wire - optional.. wire into sidelights to make the guage dim at night when your lights are turned on...

I have wired mine up to my amp in my boot with the wires running underneath the carpet all the way up to my A pillar pod...but have wired it up with a switch in my dash.. as they can get really annoying when driving at night...

You can view the guage and the switch in the dash here:

The other switch is for footwell neons...

If i wire it upto the cigarette lighter it wont tell me how many volts is going to my amp,I thought that was a good way of wiring up a set of foot well neons.Cheers for the reply.

is it a race-x one??

sounds like it, just wire it up as said, the yellow is a dimming feature usually, dimms the lights when sidelights are on, you dont have to connect it up you could just earth it :y:

what exactly do you want the gauge to measure??

Thanks for that mate. That was spot on i think i would perfer a switch as i could imagine it could get annoying at night on the a pilliar.
I tried to rep you but i have spread some love as i rep you a little while ago for your guide on how smoke fog lights.

Looks like a race -x one to me, I was looking at getting one of these mounted on my A piller too, may have to look into it:y:

its not a race x one, exactly the same though, shouldnt have any trouble with wiring them in just use splicing connectors, the hardest part is running the wires :y:

remember to disconnect the battery first.
you dont want to short anything whilst doing this :)
