just wondering if theres any difference in buying a new sub, or a used sub? obviously if its been used you dont know if the person has blasted the fook out the sub, but even if they did does it make any difference? do subs have like a life expectancy???

Pretty much as you said mate. It will depend on the sub i reckon, if its quite a high end one then it should in theory be better looked after, eg well run in and amped properly. If its a box with 2 sony xplods in it its probably gonna sound a bit saggy cus its been blasted senseless.
Try looking on audio forums, more likely to be non chavs. www.caraudiodirect.com have a forum that ive found useful for ice before

2nd hands is great for getting equipment you would normally only dream of.
Just make sure you talk to the seller.
If they sound like a chav then chances are the systems been at full whack and probably poorley fitted.
If the guy sounds like an audiophile, you may have just struck gold.
First test: Ask them about RMS. if they says "What? Nahh bruv its like 1000watts PEAK mate!"
Then walk away.
as mentioned,
you dont know what the previous owner has done to them. I tend to stay clear of second hand ICE... Ask what amplifier it was running from, how many subs they had etc... experts know that second hand ice isnt worth jack, so they'll talk to you and wont ask for stupid amounts of money
