Is base coat paint cellulose based? Is there a guide on measurements is it really trial and error between thinners and paint. Anyone got tips on painting with a compreesor just painted a wing looks wicked but then i realised it was'nt very smooth and that the paint was very thick and it was spraying blotchy so i have got to get some more thinners, sand it down and start again. Whoops lol.

all modern paints are water-based or twin pack, cellulose is like the days of black and white fella.

So base coat paint is not cellulose based then? Why is it so thick and comes out blotchy??

do you have a paint strainer?what paint did you order lol 2pak cellulose or water based?sounds like the consistancy of the paint is stil way to thick to be honest mate if the paint was thick theres a higher chance of it running!! where did you get the paint?2pak is the best but more harmful wear a mask!! if it was 2pak the company shud have supplied activators and thinners

2reasons its blotchypaint to thick, and the gun needs a good service

if its cellulose paint its a cellulose basecoat then top coat then laquer

same with 2pak itl be 2pak top coat and cellulose your not supposed to mix

also if its cellulose paint use cellulose thinners

if it is 2pak paint DO NOT USE CELLULOSE thinners lol 4 godsake!

well i got it from a paint shop near where i live and they only supplied the paint so im guessing its cellulose based. No runs what so ever and as soon a it was sprayed on it was dry so my dad reckons its cellulose as it dries in the air. So what i was thinking was to get some thinners rub down the paint so its smooth and put another layer of paint on without it being rough and blotchy and then a few coats of lacquer. Well the gun is brand new. Thanks
