way to come across not too much like a mug when asking for a payrise....
I was told by my boss yesturday that I would be having a meeting today and discussing my contract and new position and payrise.....
I always get my hopes up when it comes to payrise and I get let down tbh....I wanna say that I want the same as what a few others get in the office without coming across pushy.....if you get me.

Just say what I said,
'I'm sure you're aware that others in the office are on more pay than I am and with me being at the same level as them work-wise I think I'm due a payrise'
Basically blow your own trumpet and give them a reason for you wanting a payrise. And I'm sorry but 'Because I want one' will never work :p lol

I feel that there is an issue with age gap between me and other workers........
Im 21 and then it goes up to 29 and upwards to 50.....but the fact I taught 2 of them everything they know and they literally ask me for help on drawings and deadlines and I know they get paid alot more than me and I feel that is not fair at all......but I dont want to go in there and him saying......Sorry I cant pay you the same as them......kick in the balls tbh

If you're more qualified than them then just explain that to your boss and mention that you're always helping others out so yuo think you deserve it.

Asking for an extra £2500 is a bit unrealistic imo
I was on 13 grand then asked for a payrise to 16 grand in light of the fact I deserved the same wage as the others in my office then that I would be training to do a different job with more responsibility. I walked away with 15 grand :(
I will be getting another payrise shortly though cos out of my team (3 people) 2 are leaving. Meaning I have to do all their jobs on my own. Will be asking for 17 grand this time round and if I don't get it I'll leave them in the shit hehe

TBH im in the same boat as you mate.....
Been here 2 year now and some 26 year old has just started as a trainee and he's on more money than me! Bearing in mind ive been training him for the last month or so....
If i walked out tomorrow the business would be at a stand still
Sucks
one more thing,
is it true that by law you are due an increase in wage after 3/6 months??

We're in the same line of work aswell....
A lad left because they wouldn't give him a payrise and they never took anyone else on, so now im doing my own job AND all of his service drawings and contract management!
Boss's havent sat down with me to explain the situation yet, just told the contracts department i'll deal with any service drawings
