My mate bought some bucket seats today ... . (not specific make)

i told him before he bought them that it's actually dearer than the seats to get the brackets made.

He's now bought the seats and has got this idea ?

take the frames/brackets off the standard seats, then weld 2 bars to each seat (as the frames on the new seats are a closer fit so they need lengthening) then weld the new seat to the 2 bars.

Would this actually work, i'm thinking it would and it'd be cheaper than buying new frames/brackets. Evem if paying for professional welding.

I made frames for my buckets to bolt to the original sub frame rather than buying after market sub frames...

piece of pissle to do really.

I wouldn't got welding stuff to your seats tbh...

just bolt frames to them to fit the original sub frame!

I helped a mate do this, he used two metal bars, drilled holes to line up the to the car then the seat and bolted em in place.....

job done...

took a full afternoon though

so basically because the bolts are in a different place to the standard frames you bolt the new seat frame to the bar, then that to the original frames. not bad. think were gonna have a go at it this week. if it works i might even get some for mine
