How many miles do you do a year and are they mainly work or social?

Also town or motorway miles?

Do around 10,000 a year with a mixture of both town and motorway miles, both for work and driving about.

And insured to do so ;)

If im being honest i bought my Vtr in dec 06, since then i've done 11.000miles! To work and bk is 24miles but i used to work 40mile away. Since my clock is only sitting on 47,200 im not that bothered lol

When i bought my punto it had 21k on it, and a year later i had done 16k extra lol, since april ive done over 2k in it, so when it goes on saturday it will be sitting at 40k

In my new car i dont plan to drive more than 9k a year, and im insured for that

I've done 17k already so should hit 30k easily by the end of the year - probably more like 35-40k

Thats mad lol. Most of my mates (non saxo owners) say your car is gonna fall apart if u do that many miles a year, but at the end of the day, if u service it, it'll run smooth. Many people dont understand us people that take great care (well i do lol) in our cars so there very well maintained to do the miles we do :)

lol the service indicator is almost ready to tell me to send the car in for its third service this year! Its had two oil and oil+fuel filter changes already but I think this next one is a major service...

the last 4 weeks has seen me put 4.5k on the clock. about 95% of that is motorway based. like yatesy, a round trip for me is about 600miles provided i dont deviate and go to saxp meets.

think my insurance guessimate was at 4k.

20-25k a year..

And i am insured to do so as most of that mileage is when i get to work where i am then covered on business insurance..

Motorway/dual carriageway to get to work then all town driving..

On my days off if i go for a drive which is rare, i go upto chedar gorge or something like that so nice flowing open roads..;)

hate these threads, because it makes me think how much depreciation i have put on my car. first two years of driving, done 40-45k :l

so average since i passed my test, about 22.5k, they were mainly commute to college though, 50 k round trip aday.

I'm insured for 10K a year but only do about 4. It's no cheaper for me to reduce the milage so I may as well leave it at 10k. I reckon I run more miles on a monday night playing footy than my car does in an average week

wouldnt worry about it man unless you intend to sell it sometime soon. I dont so depreciation doesnt affect me :fcuk:

Ive only just started driving to work, but doing roughly 80 miles return and then 10-15 miles a night. havent worked out how much im paying a journey yet.

then i can spend 20 on petrol over the weekend.

ouch.

On a normal week i reckon i clock up about 400miles. And its just driving the missus to work, me to work and then just pointless trips to the shops etc! Insured to do around 12k i think!

tommyc

First year of driving I did about 16,000 miles then my second year was 14,000 miles.

I was insured for 6,000, but now 3,000 as the car is just a weekend one now.
