Right Project 106 is well under way.

VTS/GTi Engine is en route to my house and the body shop is all booked up to remedy the well bodywork and respray the 106.

Right in the mean time i need a motormobile to get me about.

Im test driving this at 19:00 this evening:

http://pictures.autotrader.co.uk/ATD_web/servlet/media?id=570188919

Not the 3.2 S version as i still need to insure this thing lol
Also, went to Porsche Cholchester the weekend and the guy there said the old Boxster Ss were just bigger engines and painted calipers.

Clouds_mate
5th July 2007, 15:03
I dont think you understand the point im trying to make.

I clearly aware it would be good to drive such a car at 19, but end of the day its only in the same price bracket of a DC5 and such cars.

All i was saying is that they are a good price for the Porsche badge but aint ment to live upto the Porsche driving expereince

djrem
5th July 2007, 15:22
ive got the 106 to ponce around in.
No point spending all that time making it look good to just drive fast and not be seen.

the porsche is purely for the love of driving.
Its supposed to be the best handling.
Im not doing 1/4 mile times in it.

Looking at a 318 bmw 3 series aswell just incase.

Mikey
5th July 2007, 15:23
you should get a integra

Ruddy
5th July 2007, 15:24
Rem...... Id have it mate. 19 years old and a porsche. (15th way of spelling that probably wrong)

Anyone that says they wouldnt is a lyer or a pygmie like pygmie180 ftwwwwww

Clouds_mate
5th July 2007, 15:24
see your looking at 318 falls in the same bracket IMO. Buying for the Badge.

I would do the exact same and buy either to look flash i honestly would lol but im just saying what i think

craig180
5th July 2007, 15:25
Bit of a difference between the Porker and a Beemer 318.

If I had the choice of the 2 I would go with the Porsche, but still not that keen to be honest.

I don't know weather I'm stereotyping but there's something about Boxter drivers that just seems so pretentious.

Although if I were 19 again and driving that I wouldn't complain:p

*edit* Ruddy you mofo!:p My money's on a VX220 for unpretentious posing and driving experience:y:

Mikey
5th July 2007, 15:27
i heard a rumour rem is a 35 year old

djrem
5th July 2007, 15:27
the 318 im only tempted because i can get it as a full company vehicle.

however the boxster id only get a discount on and free insurance.

I really like the boxster because its supposed to be such a good handling machine.

If it was just a badge thing, id go buy a mr2 and make a ferrari 355 out of it.

poor mans car or not....hes 19 and gunna be driving a porsche!!

My sister,17, was telling me about some yuppi mate of hers who has a ferrari & is only 18 and how his dad bought it for him as his 1st car. This lad arrived in his ferrari one night so i had to nip out and see what model it was. Half expecting it to be one of the MR2 replicas.

This is why girls pick cars by colour & should never be allowed to go to a car showroom. The lad had one of those really rare... but cheap... 1997 ferrari mazda 323's in red (ferrari red i suppose he will say) :err: Stupid lass thinks that what a ferrari looks like? :ban:

Just got back

Porsche Boxsters. pssssh
tottally overated.

Pretty sure a glovebox is probably an optional extra

On the way home had a go in a 52 plate BMW 318ci.
Fully loaded with all the options and still cheaper than the boxster
Much nicer ride, plus its a cabriolet.
Oh and it has rear seats :)
