I have a 3-door saxo westcoast (not long had it, but it's great to drive) and I'm trying to set my 6x9s in the parcel shefl. The plan is to unplug the rear speakers and extend the wire to the 6x9s that I'll stick in the parcel shelf.
The thing is, I'm not sure how to get into the speakers and I don't want to go flying in there with a screwdriver trying to prise it up just to break it. So if someone could point out how to get this done I would be very grateful.
P.S. I'm new to the forum and notced some of you don't like 6x9s but I have them lying spare from the last car i owned (http://s90.photobucket.com/albums/k266/typhoon_2099/The%20Car/) and I can't be bothered to buy a sub etc.

You have to take the whole rear trim panel off to get to the rear speakers mate.

Bloody hell, that was quick! I was kinda thinking I might need to do that, any tips?
Those scratches on my head and a sore arm were all that happened to me, thank god for my seatbelt!

Open the door and rear windows, pull up the rubber seals around the outside of each of em, then just pull the doorcard off and itt will come out mate.
What happnened in the crash?

About the crash, I came round a corner to fast, bounced off a corsa, and the back end rolled through a ditch (the one it's lying in in the photos). The front end (and me) came out relatively unscathed, I even managed to reclaim my induction kit and ecotek (which will be going into the saxo at some point too).

not a 6x9s thread again :p
components up front sound much better, and you only need fronts, obviously amped up will be better

They probably would be better, but I don't want to spend money on doing up my car just yet, I'm just sticking in what I have lying around. I had them in my astra (saloon) bolted into the metal parcel shelf, and they sounded amazing. huge amount of bass as the boot became a huge box for them.

getting to the rear speakers is a bit of a nightmare tbh, took me ages to get the rear card back on, was getting well agitated doing it :p
as for the 6x9s, its up to you, i will happily advise you the best way to destroy them, but thats it :p

Can someone please help, either describe how I get these bits out from under the other panels or draw over the pictures. Or come over and do it for me (can't be bothered).
It's annoying me quite severely, I couldn't get the ecotek in either (can't find jubilee clips small enough. So any help will be greatly appreciated.

ahhh i think you have to remove the parcel shelf plastic brackets/holders and also have to remove the rear seat
and wouldnt bother with an ecotek mate i have one and they do sweet fa

Well, the ecotek is lying about the house too. Thought I might have to remove all that, and it's screwed in and that, I'm annoyed more now I think (was just cooling off too). And the rear seat too? Oh man, might leave it for today and come back to it when I can be bothered.

its not hard to take the seats out, the two brackets either side, undo the bolts and it will come out, not entriel sure on the parcel shelf though, bound to be a few torx screws holding it in though
yeah ecotek just makes a gay noise, i had to use some bigger hosing as the standard has a plastic insert so you would have to heat it up to fit it on, just put it on ebay and make a bit of money for some components :p

I have done this a few times mate. You have to lift up the back seats, and unscrew the bolt which screws your rear seat belts to the car (underneath rear seat). You then need to open the rear window and remove the seal. You may also need to remove part of the seal on the front door. There are door panel clips on the sides of the rear panel which should release by pulling the rear panel upwards. Then there is an awkward piece of plastic shown in your first picture(near where the seat click in), which needs to be liftedd with a screwdriver. As you lift that, pull the panel towards the front of the car and it should come away. It is a pain tho lol. Once you done it once its easy.
Hope that helps mate. Let me know how it goes

I had an Ecotek valve and thought it was useless!!!
Rev the engine and you get a really annoyin whinin sound!
Also the pipe going to the valve collapsed and messed my brakes up (as told by an RAC mechanic)
Chucked it away straight after my brakes went a bit weird

I've tried getting those panels off too,
After spending an entire weekend the only things that came off were broken rivets. So I solved it the easy way, soldering new wires from the HU to the speakers (stuffed them under the carpet).
I had to make a new shelf though, 'cause the orginal couldn't handle my 17 cm Pioneers. Looks prettier this way too. Took me about a week to build, 2 hour a day, but it looks like pro done shelf if I may say :D
But are you very sure you have rear speakers, I don't know for you, but here in the Netherlands the 3-door version doesn't have rear speakers. Some say there are connectors behind the rear panels, thats why I wanted those panels off at first, but after getting very annoyed I just stuffed new wires under the carpet.
Hope you'll manage to get them off, let us know.

Yeah there are speakers behind the rear panels. The panels are awkward but not to bad once you done it once.
