View Full Version : Squeaking Rear Suspension

on the passenger side of my car, everytime i seem to go over a bump or a ditch slightly too fast there seems to be quite an awful squeaking noise coming from the back passenger side of the car. Last nite coming home from work i had a full car (not a great idea with lowered suspension) but there was a constant drone from it. and soon as the car emptied a bit, it got considerably better!

anyone know what this problem could be?

thanks

i'd check the condition of the rear beam mounts and also the rear shocks.. those would be the obvious place to start looking

its the ARB end plate moving about mate!

search for a thread called "squeak squeak" all the info you need is in there, i sorted mine out yesterday and its all good now :y:

EDIT: did the work for you ;) all the info you will need is in this thread, there are two different guides in here, but i bet you any money that one or the other will solve your problem :p

i'll try those tomorrow, but these threads describe a 'ping' noise whereas mine sounds more like a grinding noise, oh well...its worth a try!

Im getting this problem quite bad, especially when theres 2 peope in the back, every time i go round a sharp corner it makes hat sound ur on about at the rear passenger side. I've been guessing that its the shocks, as they siezed up quite bad when letting it off a jack when puttin my alloys on. People are recommending i get new shocks, but how much will this cost? I dont have the money right now and i'v been lookin to get lowering springs anyway, should i just save up an get coilovers?

have you totally missed the links in this thread? See the sticky at the top of this forum and the FAQ tab and try them first.

99.9% sure its nothing to do with your shocks.

I caught on after posting this, it's just because i was certain it was the shocks for so long that ive posted it. But ive read through all the ARB threads now and will hopefully get it sorted
