Thanks very fucking much for your loyalty halfords and more precisely my new manager that has been in the job for a month.

Over 4 years i have worked at halfords i know my job and the store and how it works inside out and this little prick gets promoted to manager and moved to my store. He thinks he has a revolutionary new rota system and he shows me my new hours. I cant do them because of uni and am i fuck working both weekend days especially when he has me in for only 3 hours each day! So he says ok ill have a look at it.

I get a call from my mate who joined at the same time as me and is now full time and also knows his job inside out. He has been forced out as the hours he has set for my mate he cannot make due to other commitments and the manager just says tough shit like it or lump it, so my mate has been forced out. I head to work tonight expecting a normal shift and lo and behold cunty rat face the manager is in and asks me if he can see me in the office.

Him: Ok Scott i have looked at the rota and this is my solution, you will now work X and Y on this day and your hours will be cut by an hour a week (20 quid a month which sounds nothing but its quite a bit to me)
Me: Nope sorry im not having that you cant cut my hours im afraid.
Him: Well im sorry there are no other ways, there are no other possibilities you have to do it like this
Me: Nope four years i have worked here workign the same hours you cant just take that away
Him: Well thats the way it is
Me: Fine whats my notice
Him: Four weeks
Me: I want it in writing
Him: <Looks worried> erm ok then
Me: I also want head offices personel department address and a copy of my contract <and i walk out>

Later i go to get my contract and OH big shit for him there doesnt seem to be one (im pretty i have never signed one) and i make it plain that its illegal and he better find me it. He then offers to write me a new one to which i tell him no way am i signing anything and to poke it up his arse.

So there we go after 4 years of working in halfords, having only been off 3 days in 4 years and having never set a foot wrong i have been forced from a job i actually did like. Hows that for fucking loyalty you fucking halfords cunts.

Oh and yes i will be pursuiting this and will be handing an official letter of grievance to him and head office and the fact that it is illegal for him to cut my hours of contract and the fact it doesnt seem like i have a fucking contract!

So im just a little fucking cheesed off right now and im opening a fucking beer

cheers mate. Another thing i forgot to add is we have a lad that started in the summer and he is fucking useless and was going to be sacked before this new guy came in. So the new manager speaks to him FIRST and gives him MORE hours before even speaking to his more experienced staff about hours!

Im absolutely fucking livid!

if he did not even make a compromise , as a manger he is

not fit to manage . he is far to cocky to see that he is

in the wrong , they deserve to be shat on a great height

for letting this sort of thing happen . you could

take this to a worker's union for wrongfull dissmissul .

Scott

Sorry to hear that Scott, but you're doing the right thing by sticking by your principles and beliefs!

It sounds like your new manager is a bit of a knob-jockey! DId he give good reasons for why he wanted to change the rota system?

I dont know what his drivers are, but in a fcuked up way he may be trying to build relationships with the dick weads by giving them more hours... and messing about the decent workers as he knows they WONT stay around on the new system.

Either way, you should look into the rules of constructive dismissal.

Speak later matey... and you know there will always be a job at sax-p for you smileys/smiley2.gif

bollox dude. maybe your head office has appointed him so that he'll ruffle feathers and then sack him after that.

either way it's not good to be shat on when you got something good goin on.

What a fucking jumped up little prick. Hope you do follow it up and make the bastards pay.
As simo says, maybe in his own weird fucked up little mind, this manager thinks that the workers who actually work hard and know their jobs are the type of people he doesn't like and the dicks who do fuck all and know nothing about the job are the ones to look after.

Fuck em scott, you're better than them, just remember it.

damn man!

I sorry to hear that...

New managers on power trips like that. From what you have said he has done.... He must have no experience or futher education towards managing and treating staff.

Alienating him self from you guys who make the team work... Well thats just stupid. Changing the rotors around to save some money i assume? Without chatting with you guys and what you can put into the business and what you cant....

Ah, it worries me that people like this get management positions!

Scott
9th October 2004, 21:14
its dreadful isnt it, he wll be saving money by splitting shifts as he wont have to pay us for tea breaks. Quite a few of us "old school" employees havent been told this yet so there maybe even more casualities yet smileys/smiley5.gif

i want to break his toes but i shall refrainsmileys/smiley17.gif

GSMotorsport
9th October 2004, 21:16
Well if he pushes you all out...

And he changes the shifts

I would love to see the profit figures from your department after a couple months of him running it

Smithy

Just "accidentally" drop a large display of heavy items on him as he walks past..... smileys/innocent.gif

Scott
9th October 2004, 21:21
lol i wont be doing any work for him from now til i leave, i wont be using him as my reference anyway as he hardly knows me so it wotn affect that.

Its a shame i did enjoy my job and 90% of the people i work with are good freinds

GSMotorsport
9th October 2004, 21:32
What you gonna do? go to a different store?

Smithy
9th October 2004, 21:34
i can't understand how bosses treat people who work hard and get on with their jobs like shite and the idiots who doss around, are late and generally fuck things up get treated as though the sun shines outta their arses. smileys/smiley5.gif

JamieB
9th October 2004, 21:36
unlucky man, i feel sorry for you!

its people like him who shouldnt be given any sort of responsibilty (sp) for anything!! they come in thinking that they no the best way to run a store even before they have set foot in it and seen how it is actually running at the moment!!

hope the cunt gets wot he deserves!

jamesg88

SaxoAL im a member on the halfords voice website but its a bit shit cos it is moderated and just about anything that goes against the company gets deleted or thats the way it use to be.

Looking into a few avenues of complaint just now and will be dropping a formal letter into them very soon
