Ive been looking for AGGGEESS. Ive seen the badermotorsport one but its not very desrciptive for someone who has little mechanical knowledge.
My question is why hasnt some kind, helpful person produced a torsion bar lowering guide on here or SSC? Plenty of people have dont it themselves, yet theres only one guide on the internet!
Toys out the pram time eh? lol.
Maybe if you ask realy nicely, someone might do one. To be honest, the Badger Motorsport one is very good. What don't you understand from that?

Lol yes all the toys are out!
Well alot of talk about things I dont know about for a start. Im sure its alot easier once you start doing the job as you learn about the mechanics behind the torsion bar suspension. But a goog guide with LOTS of pics would put my mind at rest before I start something I know nothing about lol

I would pay up lol but is it gonna get anything better than the one on badersport? - probably not
search sax-p on how to do it and you'll find a thread with a link to a suzuki website. That is a link to a guide. The guide on here is in Premium Mods section

Whats the guide like in the premium section?
Here's a guide for you:
Jack up rear
Take wheels off
Take torsion bar out from one side
Set that side's ride height by moving the trailling arm upward. Alow about 5mm for the weight of the arm.
Put torsion bar back in.
Take torsion bar out from other side, and repeat the same process.
It's honestly that easy!

everyone sais its easy and looks easy but doesnt to me lol , whats the worst i can do dmaged whise if i fook it all up?
How longs a piece of string! You can't damage it that easily. Perhaps if you don't put the torsion bars back in properly, you could be taking a risk. Also, you want to make sure the ride height is the same on both sides, but that's simple, you use a measuring tape!
It's not difficult. But, to be on the safe side, don't do it if you're planning to use the car the next day for something important. Then, you can always call for backup if something goes wrong.

the suzuki website guide makes it look easier than the badger motorsport one.
But as said above what are the think to be careful about when dismantling the rear suspension? Anything to watch out for?
Help is really appreciated
When you take the torsion bar out, the arm it's providing suspension to will just drop! So make sure you have something underneath to catch it with. Also, I would measure the distance from a point on the arm to the ground, BEFORE you take the torsion bar out.

OK me and my dad have been dicussing lowering the torsion bar. Were going to give it a go at the weekend - he did the same to his Mini S when he was young so hopefully that will help
First though - Is the torsion bar made up of two parts? I take it it must be as if you remove it from one end, the otherside suspension arm would drop right?
If anyone has any information what so ever please post it up here to help me out at the weekend. Thanks!

not sure what else to post, theres two guides you have theres also one on here.
There are two torsion bars, one for each arm on the, only one arm will drop when the bar is removed

Thanks scott. Do you know if the lowering guide is in the saxo haynes manual (modifing one)?

it is but if you find the badger motorsport one brief then the max power one is worse.

Not being funny, but am I turning into a ghost on this forum?
If you don't want to take anything from what I've said then say so and I shall say no more on the subject.

WO hold up Toad man. Im asking around to get different points of views. From asking different people im getting a better understanding of what I can expect. What you have said has helped alot, but if anyone has anything to add id gladly appreciate it so that I dont mess up where others have failed.
Im trying to limit the chance of something unexpected to happen.
Any info, good or bad is welcome so I make less mistakes, meaning less hitting tyres in frustration! :drink:
