Bit of help needed for when i add to my sound system next month. After a lot of browsing and help from the resident ice guru Predator, Ive finally picked these Rainbow components;

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3967.html

Good reviews, good ratings, and they look good which does matter imo.

Now i need an amp. I would go for an Audison SRX3 but i dont see the point as i already have an amp for my sub and they run together very very well. Plus the amp has a few scratches on it now and it wouldnt be worth much when i paid a fair bit for it.

So I need a 2 channel amp for the Rainbows. Needs to be under 150 quid really. The comps have quite a high RMS rating of 80w. I want an amp that will run them well and give good quality.

Also could anyone clue me up on the Ohm situation. Ratings are always given as 4 and 2 ohm ratings, and the 2 ohm are always higher wattages. But arent all car speakers 4 ohm? WHat efffect does the ohm rating have on power and quality?

cheers for any help

aye ive seen that. Wont be buying wuite yet though car needs fixing im just getting ready for a big cheque i get next month. Thing is my sub amp works well with the sub and i wont get anything for it because its scratched.

It was cus of the SRX3 i asked about ohms though, im not sure it will work well with these comps and my sub which is 300w rms.

# 2 x 75 + 1 x 250 Watt at 4-ohms
# 2 x 65 + 1 x 340 Watt at 4/2 ohms
# 2 x 110 + 1 x 220 Watt at 2/4 ohms
# 2 x 95 + 1 x 315 Watt at 2-ohms

it would work mate if its wired up correctly, and also not turn the gain right up

its up to you but imo that srx3 what dave has is a bargain and a good match for your speakers

only if youve got nothing better to do mate. Just exploring all the options really, 2 channel amps seem to go from 2 X 50 RMS to 2 X 120 RMS with no decent brand offerin in the middle

the 120 watt one will be ok you know just dont turn the gain right up and it should be fine, id say about in the middle of halfway and 3 quarters of the way
