Aye, buy the best spray gun you can afford, preferably HVLP, run by a large compressor with a cooled air supply.spray in low humidity and use a viscosity cup to get the thickness right. After that, steady even coats and bake in an oven.

Or did you mean with rattle cans?

Use a compressor and spray gun... aerosol's wont give a good enough finish for a wing...

If spraying using metallic paint.. make sure you rest the panel at the same angle as it would be on the car when spraying.. (so vertical not flat)... then the flake is applied in the right direction.. and you'll get a closer colour match...

Take your time... do lots of very thin coats... you can add paint but can't take any off.. otherwise you'll leave run lines... after the first few coats gently sand with some 1200-1500 grit wet and dry paper to remove any imperfections or 'orange peel' effect... then wipe with a clean dry cloth.. then spray a final coat...

Leave the paint for a decent amount of time between coats.. and after spraying to ensure it's fully hardened or it wont wear very well...

Hope that helps..

There are stacks on ebay buddy: Link (http://business.listings.ebay.co.uk/Power-Tools_Air-Tools_W0QQfclZ3QQfromZR11QQsacatZ22664QQsocmdZList ingItemList)

You would need an air compressor... then the various spray guns are pretty much plug and play....

Although i think you can rent them, at least the air compressors.... which could save you a bit of dosh if your only using it for a weekend... :y:

the finish isnt dependant on the way the paint is applied its in the preparation and the mans hours you put in cutting it back.

if youre going to use cans id suggest rubbing each layer down with some really fine wet and dry and with the final layer polishing it with cutting compound.

that should give you a smooth finish and a good shine, then lacquer it. after the lacquer has hardened again rub it down dulling the whole surface but making it smooth to look at as well as touch, again polish it with cutting compound to bring back that shine

and tbh it should give a good finish.

use a gravity fed gun with an air compressor, should get a good finish and i would highly recommend you go to a scrapyard and practice before you spray parts for your car :)

only tips i can give you is to take your time, prep is the key to the perfect finish, if you can hire out a booth for the day, as in the garage the dust will be blown about and may land on the paint, wet sand between coats of paint except for the last coat, start spraying off the part your spraying to avoid any splatters of paint, keep the gun head clean, if you have a porter cable/rotary polisher you can wet sand back the laquer for a smoother finish then use a polisher to give it a nice finish
