Mmmm... yes... just imagine
tbh i prefer the medium sized ones, the thin ones dont do much for me but i do tend to keep my hair a bit longer. If you have very short hair then thats the only time id bother with the thinnest ones :y:

I have naturally curly hair and hate it.... my hair is quite short, but I still get the gf to straighten my hair... the only haircut for me to have without straightening my hair would be to shave it all off.... but that is never gonna happen.

I think ideally the bigger the plate the better. If you have really long hair theres like a 3 inch wide plated one you can buy!

The thing with GHD's is that they heat up quick and you don't need to hold them on a bit of hair for as long as other straighteners. that's probably why you've ended up with fried hair. Plus, excessive use causes the same problem hence the reason I don't know why some girls straighten their hair every day when there's clearly no need.
Maybe I'm lucky that I can straighten my hair and for the next few days just brush it and it still looks the same.
If they were shit then they wouldn't be used in tops salons all over the country would they?

I have ghd straightners and couldnt live without them. They heat up in seconds. I got mine for a christmas present, think they were about £90. I highly recommend them.
My friend has the massive plates, she paid £125 for them, but if you have shoort hair i wouldnt advise it, cause she burnt my ear with them lol

ghd's are the best straightners ever :d would buy some but cant afford it. small ones are 69.99 i think, normals are about 80-100 retail. look on fleabay, and google it. i paid 6quid for mine! got some cheap ceramics from tesco. Thought they'd be shite but they actually work. Best ones ive used are GHDs but if you say just want a fringe straight theyre not necessary.
woop i sound like a girl!
dont worry i dont straighten my hair like a gurl :p just lived with one for 2 years who would rather die than not use ghds...

yeah i have some and the are really good id give them 10/10 i paid £120 for mine from Tony & Guy but becareful where you get them from as my dad bought some off ebay for £82 and they were copies he did receive a refund but it took about a month to get it

i work in a salon and its bin said that ghd from after markets can be bad for the hair, they heat up over the required temperature so your hair wil break much easier. Best after market ones if you arent going to buy them from a salon or retailer is:
Argos...toni & Guy 15mm narrow irons
If thats how narrow you want them?Theya re fraction of the price aswell
Danhunt
11th July 2007, 17:19
Get on ebay bout 70 quid
really good.
Instead though i would get a pair of FHI's theyre cheaper and in my opinion better :)

11th July 2007, 19:03
I had a pair of thin bladed GHDs and then the wider ones, slim ones for guys hair and delicate styles then the thick ones for normal hair,
My normal ones blew up after a few months ( common fault with them apparntly) so brought some mark hills which are much better :) still have the lil ones kicking about somewhere though
jdavies23
11th July 2007, 19:25
Yeah my mum has a few hairdressing salons and i have used them( oh god ), and we stock them. Generally you can't pick up GHD's any cheaper than the RRP as GHD do not allow this- they are also only supposed to be sold in the likes of salons etc.
I believe from what my mums staff say that they are very good indeed and sell very well.
If your friend is after some- im sure if you want i could send some to you.
jdavies23
11th July 2007, 19:26
Oh and any on ebay and other such places are likely to be very convincing cheap immitations!
