not saxo - Volvo.

As some of you know i have an ex police T5.

it recently developed a knocking noise from the engune bay so today i took it to a volvo stealership for a mech to have a listen.

after a 10 minute diagnosis drive, then a chat to his mate about it, then another drive they came to the conclusion that the gearbox is fcuk'd.

the price for a new one.....

£2.5k for a recon box. Bugger that just make it direct drive from now on!

I cant scrap it!

my dad gave me loads of shit for buying it in the first place!

think will have to get a box from a scrappers. there must be loads of written off T5s. then have a go myself!

Check the volvo owners forum, they'll be well up on these boxes. I'd imagine they go through gearboxes if you turn the boost up.

I will check vpcuk (T5 forum) only thing is the site is really quiet and takes a while to get a response

If you buy a box for £135 is ain't gunna cost you £2300 for a box re-con surely!! Do a google search. Loads of Gearbox re-con people

that price was for volvo to exchange my box for a recon'd one. and obviously do the work. they wanted £1'600 for the box!
