When I fill the petrol tank past half there is a fowl smell of petrol in my car until it goes below half and then again when the red light comes on. Also when I had a full tank the other week, it used the whole tank up in 200 miles and that is with carefull driving. I have looked underneath my car and there is no visable leak. Could my car be over fueling?

Any help will be great,

Cheers guys

When the engine is running it is quite strong. But when my engine is off, the smell is still in my car.

Yeah quite common this is due to the metal filter is exposed underneth to the road crap so it is prone to rot and rusts. Also check the hoses in the wheel arch should be 2 visable from above. Also check all fuel lines and connections:afro:

by the way mate, dont look to try and see where the petrol leak is. petrol evaporates so quickly so chances are you wouldnt never see the leak. sniff instead of look!! will give a better indication of where the source of the leak is if there is one.
