Ive done it... its VERY interesting AND you wont be able to get out of it for good.

I deferred mine as I was in Holland at the time, but they sent a new date through to me.

You should do it... but you wont get much money backl on it. About £5 per day, unless you can claim loss of earnings smileys/smiley17.gif

When you do it though you realise how serious it REALLY is... your decision could potentially destroy someones life... the accused or the accuser.

Id definately recommend doing it if you can... it screws with your mind if you get a dodgy case, like I did though smileys/smiley5.gif

Hi Scott,

I'd agree with Simo - Jury duty is an eye opener and at the same time it is a serious responsibility - your decision could take away someone's liberty, or on the other hand allow a guilty person to walk free.

One thing I realised when I did it is that virtually anyone can be called up (even people with less than dazzling understanding and mental abilities). I wouldn't want to face a jury for this reason! smileys/smiley3.gif

I had a letter bout dury duty last year, but coz I worked in the prison service at the time I couldn't do it. If u want to get out of it just say that u r prejudice against ethnic minorities, women and that u think we should bring back public hanging. No way they would want you on a jury then they'll think u r a rite smileys/smiley29.gif lol

(even people with less than dazzling understanding and mental abilities).

that would have been so easy to make a cheap, sarcastic joke there, but i won't. smileys/smiley4.gif

I wouldn't want to do it, just couldn't face the responsibility of it. Having someones whole future to decide. smileys/smiley5.gif
