looking to buy one of the above, both the same price as each other

which do you think is best and why

i would go for the UDM 1000 as its going to be a UK version so no need for conversion. a lot of detailers are saying its just as good if not better than the PC.

udm is more powerfull and more warenty iirc

make sure u get the 240v udm the you wont need to buy transformers

the 240v isnt out yet though

Just been thinking of getting a porter cable myself as UDM gives more vibration than the PC. Plus IMO the PC is better as less voltage so more safer.

You should't scratch it mate, it's burning the paint thats the main problem i think. Which is why the Pc is good for beginers like us, as it's always changing direction and doesn't heat the paint up too much. I think this is correct :/

udm would be good if it was a porter cable lol for beginners like me

they are both orbital polishers which mean the same result and minimal risk of paint damage. its the rotary polishers that need some serious skill to master.

both look the same to me so i will probs just by the one thats cheapest at the time. already got a few transformers laying around the garage so a pc wont be a problem.

How much? il ask my dad because they are his, just noticed your only in stevenage to. Im welwyn garden mate. If you get a pc before me and your any good with it i will pay you to polish my car if ya want?

110v transformers mate, pretty heavy as well. thats the bonus of working on building sites, theres always loads. so ya can BORROW them! ;)

Sounds like a good idea to me, when are you planning on buying yours? Not sure how much money i will have left this month bcos i want to get the car lowered this month in time for trax.
They are both, 240v input with two 110v outputs,

pic aint working for me, they are square, yellow and heavy as fook lol.

quite soon it would work out 120 with the current exchange rate and that with pads, ask your dad if he wants to sell one

im all oldskool baby, and i love the vibrations, they will both do the same job and imo buying a transformer is a good investment for use with other tools :y:
