1) Remove old carpet, place onto a new bit, i.e cream house carpet, pen round cut along lines, fold back into car fix down.
2) Spray rear lights just the reverse bit black leave the rest black or spray red black leave the white reverse bit.
would these ideas work? look good? have they been done before?

no to the carpet, go to a trimmers for the carpet, i wouldnt use house carpet inside the car, you would have to mould it in, it would look very tacky, you could get it all leathered up, have a search for gaz sleighs saxo
the lights look good with just the clear bit done black, check simons_vtr's threads on it

I had thought about getting mk1's, but I wasn't keen on the square reflector, prefered how the mk2's have it in thin lines all the way across.
So I thought I'd have a go with the tint spray, very pleased with the results.

Looks quite good tbh... When it was described I thought it'd look gash... But I'm impressed ;)
